| Apparently there is a huge problem with dogs poo in the village - Could it be foxes or cats poo? |

I don't think so, fox poo is very distinctive - it's black and tar-like, and dogs go crazy and start rolling around in it (or at least ours does).
Cats tend to do their business on soil and cover it over - very civilised! |

| Just by the way, cats, especially toms, do indeed poo 'out in the open' so to speak. They can be quite a nuisance actually. I've never known of one to do its business on a pavement but re. the front lawn problem, cats could easily be the culprits. One clue that it's a cat is small piles of scratched up/browning grass surrounding the offending area. |

I heard many years ago that female cats urine kills grass and turns it brown. Do you think it is true?
I don't like cats in my garden as they try to kill the birds and occasionally succeed. _________________ Planet VM |

Yes I believe both cat and dog urine kills grass. It seems we're doomed either way. |

I know that dogs (especially bitches can make the grass brown with urine).
I have to disagree that cats cover their poo - a cat visited our garden on many occasion and didn't have the manners to cover it up. Not good when our dogs find it..... |
